Salam brothers and sisters!

March 11th 2009 The Tehran-Dakar Brothers played at THE STONE for the first time in NYC. For this conncert Sohrab lined up following musicians: Damon Banks on bass, Brandon Ross on guitar, Sheikh Tairou M’Baye (Senegal) on sabar and Jean-Marie Collatin-Faye (Senegal) on djembe.

The curator of THE STONE was Lukas Ligeti.
The concert theme was: silence is sound…doo bee doo bee doo. And the strategy of the peformed music was composed improv.

NBC (Channel 4) video taped parts of the concert and aired the footage, which is a piece of a segment on experimental music in New York, 3/21 at 7:30 pm and 3/22 at 1:00 am. This piece is featured on LX TV Television for a long long time.
